WHAT WE DO
Sierra Vista 1st Church of God is an inclusive church committed to Christ and His word. We are dedicated to sharing the love of Christ through ministry, fellowship, and worship. Our church is not just a house of worship. At its core are the members and believers that come together to practice God’s word, celebrate His love and extend His gifts to all.
OUR COMMUNITY
At Sierra Vista 1st Church of God, we pursue the Glory of God through worship, ministry, giving and education. We strive to connect with Jesus Christ and to each other, in order to magnify His name. At the heart of everything we do is the understanding that we must love God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind, and to treat our neighbors as we wish to be treated ourselves.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and, God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.
We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.
We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for Him.
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.
OUR PURPOSE
To exalt the name of Jesus Christ through individual and corporate worship means.
To equip the saints for the works of the ministry through instruction means so the Body may grow in the knowledge of the Son of God, to become mature disciples, and to fulfill the measure of the stature, which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
To edify one another through fellowship means of encouraging one another and building up the Body into a unity of faith.
To evangelize our community, state, country, and world through evangelism means which proclaims the Word of God and calls people everywhere to respond to Jesus Christ through faith.
To enable the Body to fulfill this ministry purpose, through the use of wise stewardship means that enhance and protect the numerous resources that God has so faithfully entrusted to this Body of Believers.
