Youth Department Mission
We believe God has called us, in partnership with parents, to:
- INVEST in the next generation of young people in significant ways
- INSTRUCT them in the core doctrines and disciplines of the Christian faith along with principles for living healthy, wise and productive lives
- INSPIRE them by our example and challenge them to take faith-filled risks
- IGNITE them with a passion for Jesus Christ, a love for the lost, a commitment to SV 1st Church and the Sierra Vista community, and finally, to launch them into the world prepared for life, for relationships, for service to God, and for leadership.

2024 Youth Mock Trial
Recently our youth department took a tour of Sierra Vista City Hall and Mayor Clea McCaa’s office. While they were in council chambers, the youth participated in a Mock Trial that focused on an 18 year old drinking, driving and texting. In the scenario, the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, hit a dip and lost control of the vehicle resulting in a roll over. Additionally in the scenario, there were two injuries and one fatality and the driver is on trial for manslaughter.
Cochise County Judge William Moore developed the scenario and our youth played the parts of Prosecutors, Defense Attorneys, Bailiff, jury, witnesses, Coroner and Defendant.
