A Bible Believing Church On
The Move for God

Our pastor, Mayor Clea McCaa gave opening remarks at the Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce event sponsoring Governor Katie Hobbs' state of the state address. He spoke about how Fort Huachuca is the largest economic driver in our area and has the greatest economic impact of any military installation in Arizona. Our community is blessed with opportunities for tech and defense-oriented careers supporting the Fort's missions, and our local businesses benefit from the Fort's presence.

He also commented that Sierra Vista is also proud to host Cochise Community College and the University of Arizona College of Applied Science and Technology, which work with the City and Fort to develop a highly-skilled workforce ready for modern challenges.

Although we are a relatively small, rural city lacking the large revenue streams of metropolitan areas, he thanked Governor Hobbs for her support of rural municipalities.

Last year, Governor Hobbs vetoed legislation to ban local grocery taxes that would have disproportionately harmed smaller towns like ours that depend on that revenue for basic services and community investment. We will continue working with our local and state colleagues to provide citizens the greatest opportunities for success.

It is our prayer that the Governor gained a greater understanding of the extraordinary progress in Southeastern Arizona and how vital her continued support is for our communities.
